What Omna is

Omna is a browser extension that detects and masks personally identifiable information (PII) before it is sent to AI services such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and DeepSeek.

Data we collect

Omna does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All PII detection and masking runs locally on your device using WebAssembly.

What stays on your device

• ·Detected PII and token mappings (e.g. [PERSON_1] ↔ John Smith) are stored in chrome.storage.session and cleared when you close the browser.
• ·Your extension settings (on/off, shield mode, scan files) are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device only.

What we never do

• ·We never send your text, files, or PII to any Omna server.
• ·We never sell or share your data with third parties.
• ·We never make network requests from the extension.

Waitlist and feedback

If you voluntarily submit your email via omna.dev, it is stored securely in our database solely to assign your waitlist rank and send a confirmation email. We do not share it.
